2001-2002 JeoTV, Nottingham, UK

Consultant

§     Designed, developed and supported several games for use on BSKYB, using OpenTV SDK and TwowayTV engine. (2 months)

§     Architect and lead developer of OpenTV EPG for German free to air STB market, working with 3 other engineers in CA, USA. (6 months)

§     STB and EPG Integration in Paris and the UK for Premier World STB, included development of some drivers and the user interface to the common interface (CI) stack. (2 months)

§     Reviewed and Designed architecture for scanning free to air services on a DVBSi OpenTV STB. (2 weeks).

§     Provided consulting services to OpenTV to make an OpenPublisher application work on a Philips STB for Wizja. (2 weeks in Holland/Paris).

§     Provided consulting services to silicon manufacturer to ensure that BSKYB OpenTV applications would work correctly on reference drivers. (1 week).

1996-2000 OpenTV Mountain View, CA, USA

Architect, Professional Services

§     Implemented multilingual Electronic Program Guide (EPG), setup (configuration menus) and surfer (channel changer) applications for   Chinese satellite broadcaster, CBSAT. (Unicode, GB, UTF8).

§     Produced several arcade games to demonstrate possibilities inherent in the OpenTV MPEG APIs.

§     Provided consulting services on application and STB architecture and development internally, to various international broadcast networks (including BSKYB, Via Digital, Galaxy Latin America and Echostar) and also many STB and silicon manufacturers (such as Nokia, Philips, ST Microelectronics, NEC, Motorola, Gl, TMM).

§     Implemented first internal reference platform for OpenTV EN2.

Integration Manager

§     Responsible for the support of 18 OpenTV STB manufacturers and 5 silicon manufacturers with my team of 3 employees.

§     Developed support material. Manufacturers Porting Kit (MPK), which greatly increased manufacturers efficiency.

§     Developed and supported the OpenTV EN reference platform, used for OS testing and demonstrations.

§     Lead my team to provide additional driver documentation, development and testing material.

1988-1996 ST Microelectronics Bristol, UK

Software Engineer

§     Performed original ports of OpenTV OS onto ST Microelectronics reference platforms (DSS, DVB, DVB Sl, MPEG). Developed drivers and kernel adaptation layer. (CA, USA)

§     Supported silicon design and integration for a variety of applications (including an ethernet bridge, ATM switch, video on demand server). (Bristol, UK and Boston, USA).

§     Provided software processor network simulators for silicon debug and application development.

§     Worked in the CAD team, providing software for massively parallel logic simulation, timing analysis and processor performance estimation.
